Master Thesis - Quantum Computing & Quantum Technologies

MSc Applied Physics | Minor in Quantum science and engineering | EPFL at EPFL

Lausanne, Switzerland

About

I am currently pursuing an MSc in Applied Physics at EPFL, with a minor in Quantum Science and Engineering, and I am looking for a 6-month industrial Master’s thesis from February to August 2027.

My interests are centered on quantum computing and quantum hardware, with a particular focus on superconducting circuits, circuit QED and multimode quantum systems. My previous projects have involved the modelling and design of superconducting resonator arrays coupled to qubits, numerical simulation of quantum systems, and experimental work in quantum optics.

I am looking for an R&D project where I can combine physics, modelling and numerical methods to tackle a concrete problem in quantum technology. I am particularly interested in superconducting quantum hardware, microwave quantum systems, quantum control, device modelling and simulation, while remaining open to other challenging topics across quantum technologies.

The thesis would take place over six months and be conducted in collaboration between the host company and an EPFL laboratory.
